Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (1990), residency in Neurology from the Federal University of São Paulo, Master's in Medicine (Neurology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1996), Ph.D. in Medicine (Neurology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (2000) and Associate Professor at FMUSP (2013). Post-doctorate at the Department of Biology and Tumor Cell at the St Jude Childrens Research Hospital between 2005 and 2008 under the supervision of Dr Alessandra d'Azzo. He is currently MS5 Associate Professor at the Department of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. Has experience in Medicine, focusing on Neuromuscular Diseases, acting on the following topics: neuromuscular diseases, muscle biopsy and molecular biology in neuromuscular diseases. The lines of research are related to the study of the mechanisms involved in muscle atrophy and hypertrophy and the use of animal models to study the pathophysiology of neuromuscular diseases.
