Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Health Sciences Foundation of Porto Alegre (1987), Masters in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the University of São Paulo (1995) and Ph.D. in Child and Adolescent Health from the Federal University of Rio Grande do South (2002). Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Iowa. She is currently a geneticist at the Medical Genetics Service of the Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre. She is one of the coordinators of the Genomic Medicine Laboratory of the Experimental Research Center at HCPA and professor of the Postgraduate Program in Child and Adolescent Health at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She is coordinator of the Reference Center for Osteogenesis Imperfecta at HCPA. Has experience in Genetics, with an emphasis on Human and Medical Genetics, acting on the following subjects: cleft lip and palate, congenital anomalies, mental retardation, chromosomal anomalies and osteogenesis imperfecta.
