He is currently Coordinator of the task force: Thyroid nodules and Thyroid Cancer of the SLAT. Corresponding member of the American Thyroid Association and the Endocrine Society.
Dr Pitoia has more than 200 publications of his research, more than 60 listed in Pubmed, and has written more than 30 Chapters in national and international books
He is a reviewer of publications of multiple national and international scientific journals (Thyroid, Eur J Endocrinol, among others). In addition, he has participated as an evaluator of projects of the Commission for Biological Sciences of Cells and Molecules, belonging to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Presidency of the Nation.
Dr. Pitoia has traveled the world giving more than 300 conferences in National and International Symposia, Courses, and Congresses (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Korea, Costa Rica, Spain, United States, France, Guatemala, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay , Venezuela) participating as a lecturer in the International Thyroid Congresses (ITC) held in Buenos Aires (2005), Paris (2010) and Orlando (2015) and Americano de Tiroides (2014).
Dr Pitoia has promoted the creation of the Association of patients with thyroid cancer (year 2002), through the creation of www.cancerdetiroides.com.ar and he currently works as Medical Adviser to ACTIRA.
