Long-term experience in tropical diseases, epidemiology, vaccinology and public health. Over 15 years of experience in the vaccine pharmaceutical sector (Biolhener, GSK, Sanofi pasteur) as country, sub-regional and Regional Medical and Public Health Director.

Eight years of experience as a Latin American Regional Adviser in the International Development and Research Center of Canada (IDRC). PAHO Malaria Advisor on Malaria chemotherapy, drug resistance, and epidemiology. Five years as an Advisor on the Malaria Sporozoite Vaccine Development Program at the Navy Research Center, Bethesda, Maryland.

Fifteen years of experience at the National Institute of Health and the Ministry of Health, Colombia, as a Director of Malaria Branch, Tropical Diseases and Epidemiology.

Experience as a Director of Infection Control and Infectious Diseases at two public hospitals and at Central Military Hospital, Colombia. Member of Colombian and international medical associations including Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology, Epidemiology.

Six past years as Latin American Director of Public Health and Immunization Policy for sanofi pasteur based in Washington DC. Areas of concentration: team management, public health, and vaccination policy, partnership with key stakeholders such as PAHO, Sabin Vaccine Institute, PAHEF, US CDC Dengue Branch, JHSPH, HSPH, to achieve sanofi pasteur public health goals. Project management experience across various geographic areas.

High expertise in designing, organizing and conducting strategic workshops, conferences and meetings in key relevant issues for sanofi pasteur and international institutions.

Member and Chairman of the PAHO Jury Committee for the annual selection of the Malaria Champions in Latin America and the Caribbean (2010-2015).

Regional and Global speaker in vaccinology, epidemiology and tropical and infectious diseases in multiple events organized by medical associations, international agencies. More than 80 scientific publications in Colombian and International journals.

Editor of multiple consensus and guidelines on pediatric, adult vaccination, occupational health and travel medicine in Latin America.
