Graduated in Medicine from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) (1996) and residency in Nephrology. She held a sandwich doctorate at PUCRS/University of Minnesota (USA) and a postdoctoral degree at the University of Minnesota. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Professor at the Graduate Program in Medical Sciences: Endocrinology at UFRGS, Preceptor of the Medical Residency in Nephrology at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. She has experience in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, working mainly on the following subjects: diabetes kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, post-transplant diabetes, kidney transplantation, pancreatic islet transplantation, kidney function, among others.
