Dr. Diana Vilar-Compte is a Hospital Epidemiologist from the Department of Infectology of the National Cancer Institute in Mexico City. She obtained the title of Surgeon from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the same University, both with Honorable Mention. In 2006 he obtained the Specialization in Quality Management in Health Services from the University of Murcia, Spain.
She is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the UNAM.
Member of the National System of Researchers since 2005, currently, level II.
His professional career has focused on surgical complications, particularly surgical site infections and issues related to influenza and respiratory viruses. Other lines of interest are chronic and topical wounds related to Hospital Epidemiology, infection control, antiseptics and quality of life.
He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, the Mexican Association of Infectology and Clinical Microbiology, the Mexican Association for the Study of Nosocomial Infections, the American Society for Microbiology, the Society for Hospital Epidemiology of America, and the Association Mexican for Wound Care and Healing.
