Dr. Pando-Robles earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and her Ph.D. in Biochemical Sciences from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Since 2008, she has been a researcher at the Center for Research on Infectious Diseases at the National Institute of Public Health, focusing on virology and proteomics. She’s also an Associate Editor for BMC Genomics and a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (Level II).
